September and October had to stack up as the most fun filled and exciting months Heart Shaped Weddings has had! They saw me celebrating my gorgeous boy turning two years old, going on holiday to Ibiza and attending some fabulous wedding-related soirées! I thought I'd give you a sneak peak into, and in some cases a taster of future happenings here at Heart Shaped Towers. So here is my September and October in pictures.
I took myself off to Brides The Show in Islington and spent hours being inspired by all the truly creative wedding day suppliers that were under one roof. If you're planning your wedding, this show is an absolute must - use it to meet some a-mazing suppliers or just for inspiration.
Maunsel House in Somerset hosted a wedding showcase event for wedding industry royalty (that Mr HSW and I were invited to courtesy of Isabel Smith). We both had a truly wonderful night away from home in what can only be described as the ultimate party house (Full write-up to follow on this one)! There was afternoon tea, guns, swords, suits of armour, a delightful three-course dinner, hats and raucous karaoke renditions!
I attended the London UK Alliance of Wedding Planners Mix & Mingle event at The Swan on the South Bank, where I met some lovely industry peeps, saw a pretty amazing dessert bar and met this lovely lady - Sama from Utterly Wow!
Max turned a whole two years old! Wow, how time has flown. I can't believe we've been parents for two years to this awesome little boy! Our house was full-to-the-brim with family, friends, a whole lot of love...and a whole heap of Brio train set. You know, the wooden stuff we all had as children? It's STILL going (just significantly more expensive!)
I received some awesome feedback from a Heart Shaped bride who I had the pleasure of working with on her big day back in August. These kind words make me a very happy girl indeed.
Family Heart Shaped ventured abroad with Max and a couple of our fabulous friends, the R-C’s, to Ibiza. Having never been there before, to say we all loved it would be an understatement! We all most definitely fell head-over-heels in love with Ibiza.
I threw my lovely friend Millie an afternoon tea baby shower and even managed to get my craft on - making pompoms and a life-sized photo frame for us to pose in, decorated with pinwheels and mini-bunting. And then there were "The Signs"! I was in my crafty element! Thanks to another amazing friend (Jacqui, cake-maker-lady extraordinaire), I was able to serve up a whole host of delish cakes, scones and the chocolatiest of chocolate mousses. Had I attempted them, they wouldn't have turned out quite so scrummy.
Our good friend Mr R-C (yes, the same one who led us astray to Ibiza!) decided to surprise the wife when she got home from a business trip with a newly decorated bedroom - So Heart Shaped Weddings turned interior decorator - I was trusted with “finding the pretty stuff”, hunting for the great bits to dress the room. I had a ball and loved being part of the surprise. Maybe there's another Heart Shaped string to this bow after all...luckily Mrs R-C loved it too! Phew...
Did I mention - We. Heart. Ibiza?!!
