I'm more than a little "keen on green"! I just love this wild, unstructured, untamed look for a wedding. It's more of an un-done look for those couples out there that aren't after big puffy balls of blooms and want something a little different.
2016 has been an amazing Heart Shaped year for me; I've had the pleasure of working on some epic weddings for some absolutely lovely couples. From marquees to country houses to theatres to breweries! Yep, they have all been deliciously different and that’s what I love!
If you are brave with your colours in your non-wedding life, then you aren’t going to choose soft pinks and ivory on your big day! So let's talk brights...really bright brights...neon brights (sunglasses may be advisable)!
The world of interiors is a huge influence on wedding trends and it's all about marble at the mo! Marble lends itself brilliantly to weddings - delicate, soft (in a rocky sort of way!) and kinda romantic.
Last year I was lucky enough to take part in a styled photoshoot organised by the UK Alliance of Wedding Planners (UKAWP) alongside a lovely bunch of other Alliance members. The overall creative direction was pre-defined, with each of us tasked with styling a specific part of a wedding day. Little old Heart Shaped Weddings was put in charge of making the wedding reception bar area look fab (yep, yep, Heart Shaped Weddings and bars are a perfect match!).
Proof that winter weddings don’t have to mean a red and green colour palette, if you are having a winter wedding here’s a more natural look that I am seriously crushing on!
Well, would you look at these pretty pages!
I, along with some other lovely UKAWP (UK Alliance of Weddings Planners) members, took part in a styled photoshoot at Fulham Palace in London which has been featured in You & Your Wedding magazine this month. The area I worked on was the bar – and doesn't it look stunning?!
I thought I’d talk about ways you can use the outdoor space at your wedding reception – I mean, the sun is shining and my thoughts are well and truly on summer weddings.
For those of you awesome couples that are planning a summer wedding and have already started praying and crossing your fingers and toes for a sun-filled day, you might have started to think about how you’ll incorporate your outdoor space into your wedding.
I admit it...I've been a tad lax on the old blog posts of late! I wish I had an exciting, fancy excuse to give you but all I can say is that I've been non-stop run around and crazy busy! I've got more lists on the go than I care to even mention. I thought the best way to ease myself back into bloggingdom was to give you a little insight into what I have been doing for the last few months.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting the studios of Wolf & Ink - a fab boutique letterpress stationery design company based in West London. When I think of letterpress and weddings, I generally picture very traditional wedding invitations - wow, have I been wrong!
So you've sorted your cake and picked the flavours, but what (if anything) will you be topping it with?! Times have changed. No longer do brides and grooms have to stick a traditional figurine that resembles no one on this planet to sit atop their cake! Like anything wedding related, the options are practically endless. Nothing is off limits to adorn your cake. Here's a collection of my current faves.
I got married five and a half years ago. I loved our day. I loved that I was marrying my amazing boyfriend and best friend of 10 years (sorry Mr HSW, just had to get that in!). I loved that we got to stand up in front of our fave people and say our "I do's" and "I love you's"! But there are a few niggly little things that, even all this time on, I wish I'd done a bit differently.
So you've stumbled across The Heart Shaped wedding planning blog! I'll be posting wedding inspiration, moodboards, real wedding photos, supplier spotlights and everything in between.
Based in the beautiful and leafy South Buckinghamshire, I specialise in London weddings but will of course travel! I'm a wedding planner and coordinator here to plan beautiful and creative weddings for fabulous brides and grooms.
